United Way of Anderson County's Women's Leadership Council Featured in Time Magazine

The United Way of Anderson County’s Women Leadership Council took on a big task when they decided to take on teen pregnancy. They started in the school district in their county with the highest teen pregnancy rate. The year before they started this work, there were 33 pregnancies in this community – and by 2008, there were none. Their successes were recognized by Time Magazine who featured the WLC initiative at Starr-Iva Middle school. Anderson County is achieving its bold goal, you can see it in the numbers – and even more, you can see it in the hope they have given to an entire community of young women. Congratulations to Anderson County on their well deserved national recognition!
